Legal Cybersecurity Hotline Launched
This blog post has since been updated with new information
Hackers are more sophisticated than ever. It is often not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ a data breach will occur. October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and with new threats frequently reported in the media; individuals, businesses, municipalities and other organizations need to do their due diligence in preparing for the inevitable.
An unprepared organization's data is always at risk of outside attacks. Incidents and breaches frequently cause significant expense and reputational harm, involve important legal obligations, and can result in costly lawsuits and regulatory investigations.
To assist businesses and other organizations with the ever-growing threat, Foster Swift Collins & Smith has launched a Legal Cybersecurity Hotline. This Hotline will serve as a resource to both existing clients and other organizations that may be experiencing an in-progress breach or discovered a cyber incident. Foster Swift attorneys can quickly respond to inquiries regarding data breach concerns, work with the entity's technology team to help mitigate risk, collaborate with their communications team to minimize negative public relations, and control breach-related costs.
Recently Foster Swift cybersecurity attorney Taylor Gast sat down on the Michigan Business Network's Michigan Business Beat to discuss the very real threat of data breaches and how the Hotline can be used as a valuable tool. Listen to the full interview.
To reach Foster Swift's Cybersecurity Team with an inquiry, dial (517) FS1-TASK or 371-8275.
